Original Gourmet Pasta Fork

Original Gourmet Pasta Fork I have never especially enjoyed eating long pasta noodles mostly because I find them difficult to eat with a fork plus I think other noodles hold the sauce better. Apparently other folks have trouble eating the pasta noodle, and Modern Gent has their solution in the Original Gourmet Pasta Fork. Rather having to perform the twisting motion yourself, simply place your fingers at the top of the fork and push down while the twist in the fork causes it to rotate. This fork is 260mm long or a little over 10″. Thats one heck of a piece of flat…errr…spiralware. Given the strength of the dollar to the pound though, you will have to shell out some cash if you want this. The Original Gourmet Pasta Fork is available directly from Modern Gent for about $22 or you can get it on clearance from Presents for Men for $10. Hog Wild Toys also has an electric solution in their Twirling Spaghetti Fork which they sell for $10.

Microwavable Color-Changing Spoons

Microwavable Color-Changing Spoons As a nice followup to the Temperature Sensitive Faucet Light, we have the Microwavable Color-Changing Spoons. The spoon is made of high-heat reinforced polypropylene and is blue until 120 degrees fahrenheit when it turns white and it can take temperatures up to 250 degrees. So its microwave and dishwasher safe but don’t leave it sitting in a saucepan. The Microwavable Plastic Color-Changing Spoons is available in two sizes, the large (9″) which sells for $3 or a set of two small (6″) spoons which also sell for $3.

Baby Plane Spoon Trifecta

Baby Spoon Plane Everybody knows the whole airplane feeding maneuver to coax the small humans to eat when they are otherwise unwilling. Kids these days seem to be needing more then just the normal sound effects because plane shaped spoons are all over the place. Pictured and linked is the Baby Spoon Plane from Drink Stuff.com which is just a plastic plane that you can attach to any normal spoon and is available for about $12. More economically priced is the Airplane Baby Spoon from the Future Flyers Club. While its much simpiler, just a plain blue spoon with wings and a tail, it is priced at $5 for a set of two. Last up is the Zoom Spoon which makes noises and has flashing lights to further entertain the tot. It comes with three dettachable spoons and a book “Zoom Spoon and Finicky Philip the Picky Eater” and sells for $13 plus $4 shipping and handling.

Light Saber Umbrella

Light Saber Umbrella Rather then get an relatively mundane umbrella with a light saber handle, why not get an umbrella with a mundane handle and an illuminated shaft? Given that the product page for the Light Saber Umbrella is in Korean embeded in images that Google cannot translate, there is only so much information I can glean, but there are plenty of pretty pictures. The umbrella measures 84 cm (33″) or 94cm (37″) if you count the handle and there is also a smaller kid size. The umbrella comes in the three colors pictured, red umbrella/shaft, blue umbrella shaft and black umbrella/white shaft and is lit by three LEDs. The Light Saber Umbrella is available in at least Korea for $42.

Darth Vader’s Lightsaber Umbrella

Star Wars Style A Darth Vader Lightsaber Umbrella Speaking of more expensive yet simpler umbrellas, we have the Darth Vader’s Lightsaber Umbrella. Supposedly made available by Master Replicas though their site has no mention of the product, this umbrella features an “authentic” light saber handle and a red nylon sleeve so it looks like a “real” light saber when not in use. The Darth Vader’s Lightsaber Umbrella is available “in limited quanties” in two styles which have different artwork on the umbrella. Style A has artwork of Darth Vader amidst rivers of burning lava and style B has art of Darth Vader preparing for battle. You can either get this umbrella and its fancy handle directly from Entertainment Earth or their Amazon store for $99.

Umbrella Draining Solution

Car Umbrella Drainer The Umbrella Draining Solution (UDS) is Nissan S. Engineering’s answer to where to put wet umbrellas in confined spaces. What the product boils down to is a compact umbrella and a big metal cup with (hopefully) a water proof lining to store the wet or dry umbrella in. The UDS and matching umbrellas are available in five metallic colors: gold, pink, red, purple and silver. You can buy these directly from the manufacturer at the link below for $15 or you can get them from Get Organized! on sale for $10 and supposedly they are available at Walgreens in Florida as well. Pretty simple idea, but I know I have spent more money on simplier umbrellas.

Retractable Wii Sports Cuff For Remote Control

Retractable Wii Sports Cuff For Remote Control As I mentioned before, problems with Wiimote related damage has been well documented on Wii Have a Problem and even I have had my own problems. But the problem of the wrist strap breaking seem to have been handled rather well by Nintendo’s Wii Strap Replacement Program. The folks at Handheld Items have come up with their own strap replacement. Rather then keeping the Wiimote firmly four to six inches from your wrist, their Retractable Wii Sports Cuff allows you to fling the Wiimote “up to 13-inches” before the cuff snaps the Wiimote back into place. Seems like this could only cause more carnage then good, but perhaps thats what folks want these days. The Retractable Wii Sports Cuff For Remote Control is available directly from Handheld items for $6.

Wiimote Charger Trifecta

Joytech Power Station dual Wiimote charger There are an increasing number of Wiimote charging solutions available on the market. Here are three of them to peruse. I overbought AA batteries a couple of years ago for some reason, so I am waiting until I manage to use them up before exploring the rechargeable route. First up is Thanko’s offering, the USB Charger for Wii Remote Control (Gizmodo Referer, Engadget Referer) which charges via USB and comes with a Lithium-ion battery pack and is available for $29. Next up we have Brando’s Wii Rechargeable Battery & Charger Stand (Gizmodo Referer, Engadget Referer) which also charges via USB and comes with a battery pack. Linked below is Joytech’s offering which can charge two Wiimotes and comes with two battery packs. The Joytech Power Station is available directly from their UK store for a little over $49.

USBCell Update

USB Cells charging in a lappy The aforementioned USB Cell AA Batteries have now made it across the pond. Now the USBCell AA batteries can be purchased at Think Geek for $20 for a pair. The folks at Moxia are still working on other battery sizes including AAA and 9V, but still don’t have any for sale as of yet. C and D size converters are also being worked on to allow for the AA batteries to serve for those sizes. Also if you can trust an April 1 press release (Engadget Referer, Gizmodo Referer), USBCell batteries are going to be released in pastel colors: white, yellow blue, pink and green.
