Coffee Related Trifecta

RSVP Scoop N Clip Here are three coffee related items I found relatively interesting. First up are the STOK Black Coffee Shots which allow you to add a shot of either straight or sweet coffee to whatever you are drinking to give it an added kick (bb Gadgets Referer). The shots are sold 50 for $14, 100 for $25 or 200 for $40 and there are some reports of these shots showing up next to traditional creamers in some convenience stores. Next up, it appears that Starbucks is Coming to Tassimo and offering four of their traditional blends: House Blend, Breakfast Blend, Caffe Verona and Africa Kitamu in single serving coffee game. (Gizmodo Referer) No word on price as of yet, but they should start showing up around December. I would think that the single serving market would conflict with the plethora of Starbucks store fronts, but I guess its equally as likely with their weight within coffee circles they might as well be making money in that market as well. Finally we have the Scoop n’ Clip by RSVP International which is a tablespoon with a handle that doubles as a bag clip in order to keep your coffee or tea nice and fresh. The Scoop ‘n Clip sells for $7 from Zaccardi’s linke below.

Duck Wine Decanter

Duck Wine Decanter I discussed the value of decanters when I linked to the Metrokane V1 Vacuum Decanter back in May. So I figured I would follow up with this duck decanter when it showed up in the feeds because it seemed kind of off beat and humorous. Little did I know how popular duck decanters were as I found four other ones on the first page of a Google search: here, here, here, and here. So much for originality, but whatever. This Duck Wine Decanter is available from Rosebuds of Haworth for $60.

Egg-Per’fect Color Changing Egg Timer

Egg-Perfect Timer I have never been proficient at boiling eggs not that I try all the often. Perhaps I would with the Egg-Per’fect Color Changing Egg Timer from Burton Plastics. This timer has a heat sensor in its sensor and detects when the center has been heated enough for various levels of yolk hardness. A black mark on a graduated scale to indicate how well done the egg is. The Egg-Per’fect Color Changing Egg Timer is available from Sur la Table for $5.

USB Cup Warmer With Cup

USB Cup Warmer With Cup USB heating elements have been all the rage on roclar.net for some time now. So what could USB merchants possibly add to attract more interest? Apparently the answer is to include a matching cup in stainless steel with a lid. Otherwise this is a relatively standard USB powered device. There is unfortunately no mention on the power draw or the heating capability of this device. The USB Cup Warmer With Cup is available from Brando for $16.

Glassware Trifecta

ACME Klien Bottle First we have Simpsons Glassware (Uber-Review Referer) with everything from shot glasses to pitchers with prices ranging from $15 to $30. The glassware naturally features various Simpsons characters with some select quotes on some of the glasses. Next up is a set of four Vintage Tumblers (OhGizmo! Referer) which sell for $22 and aspire to make it appear that you are drinking from a vintage goblet rather then a boring 6″ tall tumbler. Last up, pictured and linked below are the 3D representations of Klein bottles which range in price from $32 for the baby size all the way up to $18k for the GIANT size. The What is a Klein Bottle page describes in great detail exactly what a Klein bottle is, but in a nutshell it is the result of sewing two Möbius strips together forming a bottle that is boundary-free. There are also some scary math equations that make me happy that I am long done with upper level mathematical study. Still the resulting glass structures are very cool.

Frog Get Mee

Frog Get Mee Produced by Propaganda in Thailand and winner of the Chicago Athenaeum 2006 Good Design award are the spoon chopsticks curiously titled Frog Get Mee. I don’t particularly understand why one would want to combine a spoon with chopsticks. As I understand customs, most liquids served in a bowl are typically consumed by drinking directly from the bowl. While I admit eating fried rice is difficult with just chopsticks, that spoon doesn’t look that much easier. I guess the concept is less confusing then the name of the product itself for which I could find no explanation. Frog Get Mee is currently out of stock at Shopmodi.com but was priced at $8.

EZ Chop Sticks

EZ Chop Sticks Continuing my string of intermittent chopsticks posts last represented with the Chork we have the EZ Chop Sticks from Kikkerland. There are a wide variety of training chopsticks such as this, this, this, and this; but none of them look like a clothes-pin. EZ Chop Sticks are made of wood and are nine inches in length. A set of four EZ Chopsticks are available from MerlinsBox.com for $10.

Plasma Mug

Plasma Mug Since I posted the Plasma Clock and the Plasma Light Bulb, I feel compelled to also mention the Plasma Mug. The mug itself is double-walled and made of hand-blown glass and can hold eight ounces of liquid. When the mug sits on the coaster, the light show commences. The base can either be powered by eight AA batteries or a universal 12V adapter neither of which are included. The Plasma Mug is available from a wide variety of etailers including Think Geek, Amazon, and 1 of a Kind Stuff for $25.

Vacu Vin Pineapple Slicer

Vacu Vin Pineapple Slicer I have never enjoyed extracting the edible portions of a pineapple from the tough outer shell. Vacu Vin has come up with a much simpler solution then my normal hacking at the fruit with a knife until either fruit or blood emerges. Just chop the top off of a pineapple and twist the Pineapple Slicer like a corkscrew and it will extract perfect rings. The shell and core are left intact should you want to use the outer husk as a bowl or beverage container. The Vacu Vin Pineapple Slicer is available in stainless steel from Amazon for $20.
