Trappist Beer

Westvleteren Trappist beer I saw this article from the WSJ concerning Trappist beer and how it was considered the “Holy Grail of beers” . Ignoring this and other religious puns, I found it interesting that one of the most sought after beers is brewed by monks of the Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance or Trappists. I rarely enjoy beer, but I did find the Fark comment thread discussing the merits of the beer versus the counterpoint that the demand is simply driven by the beer’s relative scarcity interesting.
