Supermarine Spitfire Mk26B Kit Moderately wealthy individuals who want to experience flying a World War II era propeller aircraft now have a solution with the Supermarine Spitfire Mk26b Kit. This kit plane is a 90% scale model of the legendary Spitfire and is approved for flying all over the globe. The kit plane is powered by a GM Isuzu V6 engine which is sold separately in either a naturally aspirated model for $42,530 or a supercharged version can be had for $50,185. In either case, the crating and handling or the engine costs $664. The Mk 26 Spitfire Fast Build kit costs $126,088 where the Mk 26b kit is priced at $144,177 with crating and handling ranging from $1,701 to $2,268 depending on the model and if you pay for wings to be pre-assembled at the factory. Before the kit reaches the consumer, the factory has already invest 700 hours in the construction time and consumer assembly time is estimated at 1200 hours depending on the assemblers skill level and if they have all of the necessary tools.
