StrikeAlert Personal Lightning Detector

StrikeAlert Personal Lightning Detector The Strike Alert Personal Lightning Detector is designed to detect lightning strikes up to forty miles away and give you a rough estimate how close the strikes are. The device breaks up the forty miles into the following ranges, 24-40, 12-24, 6-12 and 0-6. When a strike is detected the device will light up the appropriate range for two minutes or until a closer strike is detected allowing you to track the storm visually. You can also turn the device to the “on with tone” setting and track a storm with the devices audible tones. I’d be curious to know how accurate devices such as these are and I was unable to find a review to indicate how well it worked. The StrikeAlert Personal Lightning Detector is available on sale from Ambient Weather for $61.
